Uncertainty is everywhere you look.
People are losing their jobs, people’s retirement funds are being impacted by the stoc
k market, people are losing their homes due to foreclosures, and many large corporations are facing bankruptcy and our government needed to put into effect a 4 trillion dollar bailout plan. Misfortunes are happening everywhere and in everyone’s life personal and professional. It seems like there is nothing a person can do except to hold on to what you have and prepare as the economist say for the worse. With this uncertainty, comes feelings; of worry, stress, and lack of any hope. Families and marriages are being impacted and stretched to the breaking point. It seems like doom is all around, and depression is on the rise in every person you speak with. All are just seeing no relief insight with their circumstances. There is no quick answer to what we are all facing.
So what can we do in order to remain sane, and find some sort of peace in the midst of the storm?
What can we do that cost nothing or very little? What can we do that brings us together and connects us? What can we do to find some sort of enjoyment in our daily lives? What can each of us do for one hour each day that gives us peace to our weary souls and strengthens our relationships and centers us?
We can pick up an activity, a sport, and just get o
utside.
We can start an art class, a singing lesson, or start volunteer our time in a community project. We can do something simple that is an healthy escape and lets us put our problems down for an hour. We can start a hobby, something that is just our own thing. An activity that is an expression of who we are. We can allow the hobby to be therapeutic to our hearts, minds and souls. By setting one hour aside to do something, we can reduce our stress, and change our outlook to our life and circumstances. Just one hour a day.
All I ask of you is to take one hour a day to do something for you.
That one hour, will change your life and those around you. That one hour will change you from the inside
out and in the process it will impact how you view your circumstances and how you deal with uncertainty. That one hour will fuel you to take on what challenges you face for the day. That one hour will aid you prioritizing your day, and whom you spend time with. That one hour will ground you, and center you and let you know you are going to make it thru the storm.
All I ask of you is give yourself one hour a day.
All your relationships will be enhanced and improved by you doing so. You will be happier and freer. And you will truly know that no matter how bad the economist say things are going to get, no matter what the news states, no matter what your finances look like today, you are going to make it through. And you will always have that one hour one precious hour to do something enjoyable that changes you and the world around you.
