Day of Rest.

Talk to you on Monday, (:

Love,

T

January 17th, 2010

Rest in the Lord.

Rest in the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind.

Rest in your actions.

Rest in your choices.

Rest in your relationships.

Allow the Lord to put you at peace through rest and restoration of your soul.

As you learn to rest in the Lord, you can learn to trust the Lord more.

As you rest in the Lord, trust in the Lord, you learn to surrender control and allowing the Lord to be in control.

So just rest in the Lord,

Love,

T

Father God,

We praise you Lord. We give you glory Jesus. We honor you in our lives. We allow you to reign fully in us.

We just praise you for who you are. We love you Jesus. We thank you for giving us eternal life.

We thank you for salvation, for dying on the cross for our sins, and paying the ultimate price for our transgressions.

Fill us with your Holy Spirit. Teach us to walk in your ways. Guide us so that we can give Glory to your name through our lives.

Just be Glorified today, in all things, wherever we go, whatever we say, may we reflect your  Light, Truth, the Way, and Christ.

May we die to the self, pride and ego…may we surrender our worries at your feet Jesus, may we allow you to be our Lord and savior.

Guide us in your Glory..in your Grace and in your Love, today and forever more.

We love you Jesus and we lay down our crowns, so that you can truly live through our lives.

Shine through the darkness..radiate the Glory of God through us and our lives.

Penetrate any strongholds in our lives, in our hearts, in our souls and in our minds…break through any negative thoughts and feelings..release us from the bondage of slavery..and may we experience the freedom we have in the Spirit.

Guide us in all things, may we fix our eyes on you Jesus, not on things of this world.

May our spirit never become low, but may our spirit be filled with your Spirit so we can be taken to a higher level of thinking, perceiving and understanding.

I ask that you have put it on all our hearts to simple to Praise you, to give you the honor, the glory, the power, the strength, and the wisdom in our lives.

I pray all this in Jesus name, Amen.

We live in a world where life is centered on relationships. And the closer you are to a person the more impact you have on one another.

Those you are closest is to, know you the best and you know them the best, so if you are emotional they are going to respond to you based on that emotion. You will do the same thing..if someone is a little emotional with you, you are going to respond to that emotion.

Not only emotions, but we all respond to what those who are closest to us think and say. And the same is true for what you think and say. It is not a one way street in relationships. It is always an act and respond situation.

So the next time you are about to say, express, or do something, think about what responses you may get and how it will affect your relationships with them. Same thing holds for what people say, express and do towards you.

It is essential to spend time every day in God’s word and in prayer so you can be filled with the Holy Spirit so that what you say and do reflect Christ. Whatever you say and respond to in your relationships should reflect God’s love.

Learn how to die to the self, and your own sinful nature, and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Remember if you are filled with the Spirit you will not gratify the things of the flesh. And finally remember that Christ crucified the flesh on the cross so walk in the Spirit.

Everything has a cause and effect, and the key is being filled with the Spirit so that what you say and do gives honor to God in your life.

Renew your mind in the Spirit today, Romans 12:1-2.

Who are you really? Seriously, take a time out for a moment, are you the same person you present yourself as to others?

When you tell people you are a Christian, does your personal life reflect a person who truly walks closely with the Lord.

Can people see the Fruits of the Spirit in your life?  The Fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Or is there any traits of the flesh? The character traits of someone walking in the sinful nature are sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies.

You know we all can have ghosts in our closets, we can all live a dual life, pretending to be Godly, yet living a life that is actually ungodly.

The key is to be real with yourself. Be real with God. God wants you to love him completely with nothing in the flesh in your life. So…do some soul searching. Ask God if there is anything that you are thinking, feeling and/or doing that he disapproves of that he wants to work on with you.

Integrity is a big deal with God. It is being transparent with God and your fellow man.  It is truly being available to Love and to be loved.

Integrity is being honest with yourself and others. It is not being afraid to share your areas of weakness and sharing your true self with others.

Integrity is being a testimony of Truth. It is walking in the way of Righteousness, it is putting God’s commands before your own. It is being authentic.

Here is a great scripture verse to hold onto:

1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is your[a] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

5Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[b] 7You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

12Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3: 1-15.

Dive into God’s word, spend some serious quiet time with the Lord. Allow Christ to dwell deeply in your heart, invite him to remove anything of the flesh from you, and seek the Lord..repent of your ways.

Remember, every single one of us will need to give an account of how we lived our lives. Live for Christ..and let go of the self, temptations, and be real and authentic.

Love,

T.

Real short and to the point, don’t boast about yourself nor what you have achieved in life so far. Allow others to speak highly of you rather than you speak of yourself.

Often times we can boast about ourselves in order to impress others. We can boast so that we personally feel better than another person. We can simply boast in order to compare ourselves to the rest of the world. All is not good.

Society has a tendency to make us believe we need to “flaunt” ourselves and say to all we meet “look at me“. It is all over television, magazines, and simply in public settings. Just society can compel you to talk alot about you rather than just be under the radar.

The Bible has a different perspective on life. We are called to remain humble, not to boast and just live a quiet life. We are called to lay down our pride, self, ego, self worth at the foot of the cross.

We are called to do things unto the Lord, and if we are blessed with good things we are to give God the credit and the glory in what we receive. So different than Society and the World view of things.

So…the next time you find yourself “boasting” about things and people, stop yourself and don’t say a word. Instead if someone comes in to your path, find interest in what they have been doing, what God has been doing in there lives. Just be an example of Christ whom never boasted about himself just was busy doing the work he was called to do.

Give God the credit in all things, if people want to praise you for what you have been able to do. Let them do so. But remind them, that it was God who allowed the opportunity to take place. Always redirect people back to Christ. It is important.

So the next time you get puffed up..slow down, remember the hard times, the sad times, the trials you have gone through..remember in a blink of an eye what you have done will be over…so whatever you do…allow God to work through you.

I hope this makes sense…bottom line…keep your perspective on Christ..he is the giver of all good gifts, nothing of your own work. It is all about grace…unmerited favor.

Live in Peace and God’s grace, not in works..

A topic alot of people don’t want to talk about is Spiritual attacks that can and do take place in our lives.

It is a topic I want to write about because Satan will try anything to pull you away from doing God’s will and following in God’s ways.

Satan’s tactics can be suttle and can go under the radar, for example becoming lazy, not calling someone, not doing something, and just not following through on the promptings of the Lord.

Satan likes to also cast doubt in your mind that God has your best interest at heart. He may have you lie, cheat, steal, and other things so that you will do what your flesh wants to have.  He will make you believe that you need to have something now..rather than wait on God’s timing.

Satan can tempt you in things that are not in your best interest as well. Such as eating too much, getting involved with the wrong people, drinking, sleeping around, and watching things that are not appropriate.

Satan loves to manipulate God’s word so that you will see only 1/2 the truth. An example can be thinking that love and sex are the same thing. Homosexuality is okay. That when a woman is to submit to her husband that it is not right and that the husband will mistreat the wife. He can also make you believe that Christ is not going to return any time soon. He can deceive you in thinking that you can live a life of sin and still be saved because you accepted Christ.

The list can go on and on of the tactics the enemy will use, he can make you feel sorry for yourself, trigger you to get depressed, he can make you have an inflated ego, he can make you prideful and self-absorbed. He can and does many things so that you will focus on yourself and self-gratification.

In order to guard yourself from the attacks of the enemy, you need to spend time alone in prayer with the Lord, read God’s word, be in fellowship with other believers, and be alert, standing firm in your faith.

If you know there are areas of weakness that the enemy attacks you in, you can ask for others to prayer for you, you can ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth and set you free, you can have an accountablity partner who you can confide in. The resources are countless.

But the biggest source of victory you have is, abiding in Christ, making your relationship with Christ your number #1 priority. Allow Christ to live through you. Allow the Holy Spirit to saturate you with having the mind, heart and being of Christ. Follow in the footsteps of your personal savior and you are an overcomer and conqueror to all the tactics of Satan.

So Fear not, take courage that greater is he that is in you that is in the world..and just abide in Christ.

New Year’s Prayer for All.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for all you had done in the last year in each of our lives. At times we could not see you at work in our midst, yet we know in faith that you are always at work in our lives. So we give you thanks today.

Lord reveal to our minds and our hearts the blessings that you bestowed upon us last year. May we be still and wait upon you as you reveal to us those things you protected us from, those gifts you have put in our lives, and the powerful lessons you taught us through the relationships you have placed each of our lives. May we stop to pause and reflect.

Lord may we give you all the glory in our lives. May we realize that what takes place in our lives is coordinated by you. Good or bad, each thing we encounter passes through your will for approval. May we realize this. Bad or Good whatever comes into our lives is meant to strengthen our relationship with you. May we stop to give you the glory in our good times..and in our times tribulations.

As we let go of last year…may we open the door as you knock on our hearts and minds. May we be wide open to you..may we see your hand and presence in all that we experience in the coming year.

We surrender the future to you. We let go of what we hold tightly to. And allow you to reign richly in our lives, today, tomorrow and through out the coming year.

Teach us to Love the way you Love. May we be your hands and feet to those you put in our path today, tomorrow and through out the year.

May you always be #1 in our lives, today, tomorrow and through out the coming year.

In Jesus name,

Love,
